A Nigerian man, who is a school owner, has reportedly shot a 13-year-old student, Paul Victor to death for jumping into his house to retrieve his ball.

The incident, which took place at an urban area in Imo State, occurred on Monday.

It was gathered that Paul Victor of Urban Secondary School in the Area N, World Bank Housing area of Owerri had jumped over his school fence into the man’s house to retrieve a ball during a football game in his school field.

However, the property owner got offended and shot Paul in his buttocks twice, leaving him to battle for his life at the specialist hospital.

Paul was later pronounced dead by his guardian, Mr Jonathan Odikanwa, on Thursday, March 20th, after undergoing surgery.

Following the incident, the 64-year-old proprietor Donald Mbamah was arrested and transferred to the State Criminal Investigations Department for questioning.

A video making the rounds online captured some secondary school students who appeared to be Paul’s classmates, vandalizing Donald’s properties, including his school and car, in vengeance of Paul’s death.

In the clip, many students were seen shouting with anger as they destroyed Donald’s school while some were spotted mourning Paul at the school’s premises.
