Senate President Godswill Akpabio in a new video making the rounds online sends a strong order to Nigerians regarding the development trailing the new minimum wage.
Recall that the Senate and House of Representatives swiftly passed the N70,000 minimum wage bill, a development that was gladly welcomed by the Nigeria Labour Congress.
After the Federal Government of Nigeria agrees to pay the sum of N7OK to workers, Senate President Godwill Akpabio in a new video informs the general public that both skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled laborers must benefit from the new minimum wage
The senate president said that if a professional tailor employs another tailor for its service, he/she must not pay below N70K. He added that if someone employs housemaid, driver, gateman and others he should not pay them below N7OK.
In his words; ” “If you are a tailor and you employ a worker for additional hands, you can’t pay the person below N70,000, If you have a housemaid you cannot pay them below N70,000. If you hire a driver or a gateman, you cannot pay them below N70,000.”
