Nigerian singer and record producer, Augustine Miles Kelechi Okechukwu, popularly known as Alhaji Tekno, has reportedly collapsed on stage in South Africa.
The singer, who is presently on his music tour, entertained his fans in South Africa few days after performing his shows in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
While singing slowing on stage, Tekno fainted. His present hasn’t been known as he has been rushed to a hospital in Johannesburg.
In the clip, some able-bodied men are seen as they carried him up behind the big banner or poster where he as slumped.
Tekno is known for his unique sound, blending Afrobeats, Afropop, and hip-hop to create infectious rhythms and catchy melodies. He gained entry into the Nigerian music industry came in 2013 when he signed with Made Men Music Group (Triple MG), owned by Ubi Franklin and Iyanya. His breakthrough single, “Holiday,” featuring Davido, was released the same year and received positive reviews. However, it was his 2014 hit single, “Dance,” followed by “Anything,” that solidified his place in the industry.
In 2015, Tekno released “Duro,” a single that became a massive hit across Africa. The song’s success catapulted him to stardom, leading to several nominations and awards. “Duro” was followed by another successful track, “Wash,” which further established Tekno as a force in the Nigerian music scene.
