Kehinde Bankole, the acclaimed Nigerian actress renowned for her award-winning performances, recently clarified her position on nude roles in film.
During a candid podcast appearance, she was asked directly if she would ever take on a nude role.
Bankole explained that while she isn’t entirely against such scenes, they must meet a high standard.
She stated that she might consider taking on such a daring role, but only under one strict condition: the scene must be essential to the story, significantly impacting the narrative and her character’s development.
“As far as it is intelligently required, not just because it is required. Sometimes, you do not need nud!ty, you do not need excessive kissing, you do not need all of that to tell a good story,” she said.
“For example, if a couple has been married for 10 years, you do not need to start the scene by showing them in a secxual act.”
While the actress acknowledged the potential for her opinion to be misunderstood, she emphasized that she would only consider n*de roles if they are “artistically necessary.”
“I do not like that question because the answer would always be taken out of context. This is the internet, after all. I will just say that I can do what is artistically required,” she added.
