Veteran ‘Waka’ singer, Salawa Abeni has captured attentions of many online as she remade Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake’s hit song ‘Fuji Vibes’.
The legend musician, known for using her song lyrics to pass message, took ‘Fuji Vibes’ track into another level as she was captured in a video where she hit a studio to drop a thrilling song dubbed from Asake’s song.
‘Fuji Vibes’ from Asake’s latest album ‘Lungu Boys’ has been topping the music chart following his recent release. It is a blend of Afrobeats music and traditional Fuji music.
Salawa Abeni is no stranger to pushing boundaries in the Nigerian music scene. With a career spanning over four decades, she earned the title of Queen of Waka music. A proud native of Ijebuland in Ogun State, she is known for her hit song “Gentle Lady Ni Mi.”
In her refix of Fuji Vibes, Salawa Abeni masterfully fuses her classic Fuji style with Asake’s modern sound. She showcased her ability to blend the music in vogue while retaining the Fuji.
While the original song’s lyrics focus on themes of success, fun, and street life, she used the song to shower praises on herself.
She also melodiously advised her fans to take things easy in sync with the initial song’s beat and social media users could not stop gushing over her beautiful voice despite being 63-year-old.
