Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Asake has once again captivated his audience, delivering an electrifying performance at the iconic O2 Arena in London.
The event, held on Saturday September 11, was not only a massive success but also a milestone in Asake’s rising career, as he joined the elite ranks of Nigerian artists to sell out the O2 Arena. This makes it the second time the ‘Active’ hit maker to shut down the legendary stage.
It is worth noting that Asake, real name Ahmed Ololade, has been making waves in the global music scene with his unique fusion of Afrobeats, street-pop, and high-energy performance style. Bursting onto the scene in 2020 with his first song Lady, Asake has quickly become one of Nigeria’s most beloved singers.
However, the Lagos-born artist made another huge feat when he effortlessly sold out the 20,000 capacity venue for his album music tour ‘Lungu Boy’. Fans across the UK stormed the event to witness his concert.
Asake firstly swept his fans by their feet as he made a stunning entrance into the stage, sending the crowd into a frenzy. Videos emerging from the event showed moments the 29-year-old singer performed his back to back hit songs like ‘ohh_yeah’, ‘skating’, ‘Remember’, ‘Believe’, ‘Fuji Vibes’, and lots more. Each song was met with thunderous cheers and mass singalongs, with the audience echoing his lyrics word for word.
Entertaining his audiences, he was seen dancing energetically with his back up dancers. He also interacted with his fans throughout the night.
One of the standout moments was when Asake performed ‘Organize’ and ‘Active ft Travis Scott’ while floating in the air, wowing his fans with his creativity.
Another highlight was when Asake brought out guest performers, including American singer Stormzy, who joined him for a memorable duet on ‘Suru’.
He also brought up fast-rising singer Ayo Maff as he opened the show with his hit song ‘Dealer’.
