Nigerian singer and songwriter Adekunle ‘Gold’ Kosoko has expressed his frustrations after his favorite club Manchester United, popularly known as Man U (Red Devils), drew with Porto in the Europa League on Thursday, October 3 2024.
Manchester United’s performance in the 2023/2024 season has been inconsistent, with the team struggling to perform well in both local and European matches. Despite high hopes from fans and experts, their results have been disappointing.
The recent match of Man U and Porto, which took place at Estadio do Dragao, ended with 3-3 after Man U’s captain Bruno Fernandes got a red card during the football game.
Manchester United showed both their strengths and weaknesses in the game. Marcus Rashford’s skill helped them take a comfortable two-goal lead. He scored the first goal at seven minutes in. Footballer Rasmus Hojlund scored the second goal at twenty minutes. Their weak defense allowed Porto to come back and take the lead with 3-2 before Harry Maguire’s late goal at ninety-one minutes saved them and they drew.
Adekunle Gold, who is a die-hard fan of Man U, did not seem to be happy with their performance as he was seen lamenting bitterly in a video shared by his wife, Simi.
In the video, the ‘Rodo’ crooner revealed that his football club is the only destruction in his life.
He said, “Everything in my life is going well, everything is flourishing, thriving except my club. That’s the only but in my life. I know God will help me.”
Simi was spotted making fun of him as she laughed hard towards the end of the video.
