Nigerian music superstar Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has opened up about his early experiences in the music industry and how his success has attracted the attention of aspiring artists.
A throwback video capturing an interview showed the moment the ‘Dance’ crooner recalled how several artists used to camp outside his gate, hoping for a chance to collaborate with him.
It is worth noting that Wizkid is one of the prominent musicians who have put their names on the global entertainment map. Gaining popularity since 2010, the hitmaker has supported several artists throughout his career, including Duncan Mighty, Starboy Terri, L.A.X, and others. He has also collaborated with a wide range of musicians, such as Tiwa Savage, Seyi Shay, Olamide, Naira Marley, and many more.
Speaking further in the interview, Big Wiz revealed that he has helped many people reach the top of their careers, but they often forget his contributions.
He also recounted how he gave a 10% discount to a female singer, who reached out to him for collaboration.
In his words, “That’s how it is, people forget, then they come to your house sleeping in front of my gate 24/7, begging for collaboration and after you give all they want, they just bounce and that’s life.”
