Anu Adeleke, a young girl residing in Ibadan, has caused a debate regarding her connection to being the oldest daughter of the famous Afrobeat artist David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido.
This controversy arose as part of revelations made during her 11th birthday celebration.
Years ago, controversial retired journalist Kemi Olunloyo accused the singer of refusing to take a DNA test and failing to acknowledge his alleged child.
However, Anu took to her official Instagram page as she shared a video where she expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Nigerians for their birthday wishes and support. She also thanked Kemi Olunloyo for enrolling her in school in 2019.
She wrote, “I made this video yesterday for all of you my fans. Happy New Year 2025 🎊My mom and I run this page now after it was handed over to us by @drkemilawrence in 2020. I’m doing well in school, I am the HEAD GIRL at the same school #DrKemi enrolled me into in 2019. Though we miss her and lost touch, we hope to reconnect soon but she no longer lives in Nigeria. My report card was EXCELLENT last term. I will post it later. My hobbies are singing, reading and modeling different fashion for girls. My mom and grandmom supervise all my activities.”
A quick check on her Instagram page showed that Anu Adeleke identified herself as Davido’s oldest daughter, sparking controversies among social media users.
In no time, social media users linked Anu Adeleke’s situation with the current controversy surrounding Davido’s close associate, Cubana Chief Priest, over the appearance of a man who claimed to be his brother.
