Popular Guinness World Record holder and celebrity chef Hilda Baci has apologized to a customer who bitterly complained about a N6,000 bowl of pepper soup she bought at her restaurant, ‘Food by Hilda’.
The lady, whose name is Omotayo Zinnat, became trending conversation on social media after she called out Hilda Baci’s restaurant over the small portion of turkey pepper soup. Expressing her disappointment in the food she was served, she complained that it was delivered in a cold state like “dog vomit.”
Sharing a video of her complaints online, she said, “My food by Hilda, I just got back from work. I placed an order for peppersoup worth N6k and this is what they brought to me. I was already having a bad day at work and had not eaten anything since morning cos I wasn’t feeling too well and I planned on ordering something else from Hilda’s restaurant tomorrow but I was like since I’m going home, let me just order peppersoup and probably boil rice or something with it and this is what they brought to me.”
“And then when I messaged them on WhatsApp, all they had to say was like ‘Oh, this is what one portion of peppersoup looks like and that they are working on increasing the portion. If you know that you are going to work on your portion, why did you decide to experiment with my own food. I don’t understand, How much is one kilo of chicken because I don’t understand why you decide to sell this to me for N6k. Turkey Peppersoup for N6k and it’s not even hot. It looks like dog’s vomit. I am so pissed. If you know that this is how you are going to sell your N6k pepper soup then increase the price and increase the quantity cos I don’t get it.”
This video drew attention from social media users, including online critic Verydarkman, who berated the lady for complaining when she could have made the pepper soup by herself.
Amid ongoing online discussions, Zinnat shared a recent video revealing that Hilda Baci had reached out to her via TikTok and apologized for the N6,000 pepper soup she bought at her restaurant. She also shared a screenshot of the lengthy message from Hilda, stating that she would be receiving a N50,000 food voucher as compensation.
She, however, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to Hilda Baci for acknowledging her complaints and making them valid.
