Abayomi Michael: Joy as 3-year-old boy abused by his teacher gets full scholarship, 2-bedroom flat & N1 million (Photos/Video)

Abayomi Michael, a 3-year-old pupil at Christ Mitots school in the Isawo area of Ikorodu, Lagos State, has been gifted a full scholarship covering his education up to university level after an incident of physical assault by his teacher, Mrs. Stella Nwadigbo.

The scholarship was generously offered by a private organization, Gidi Real Estate Investment Ltd.

Recall that Stella Nwadigbo was caught on video physically abusing Michael during a lesson in class. The teacher was seen repeatedly slapping the kid as he stood in front of her desk.

The disturbing video quickly went viral online, capturing the attentions of social media users, including the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development. This led to Nwadigbo’s arrest and arraignment in court.

At a ceremony on Thursday in Alausa, organized by the Lagos State Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Commissioner Mobolaji Ogunlende praised Gidi Real Estate Investment Ltd. for their scholarship gesture.

Ayorinde Ejioye, Co-founder of the organization, explained that the company learned about the incident through reports in Lagos. Acknowledging that such abuse could affect any child, they decided to step in and sponsor Abayomi’s education from primary school to university level.

Additionally, the organization also supported the family by providing Mrs. Nike Okunlaya, Abayomi’s mother and a widow, with a fully furnished two-bedroom flat.
