President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and veteran actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, share a longstanding friendship.
Their cordial interactions at Lagos airport have garnered public attention.
Olusegun Dada, the Special Assistant to the President on Social Media, clarified that Papa Ajasco leads the cultural troupe that traditionally welcomes the President upon his arrivals in Lagos.
This role explains their frequent meetings and the warm greetings exchanged between them at the airport. A recent encounter was captured in a viral video, where President Tinubu, upon arriving at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, invited Papa Ajasco over for a handshake and brief pleasantries.
These interactions highlight the President’s appreciation for cultural traditions and his personal connection with the veteran actor.
Olusegun Dada while sharing the video on his official page on X formerly called Twitter wrote; “Beautiful moment between PBAT and his long time friend, Mr Abiodun Ayo Yinka (a.k.a Papa Ajasco) at the Presidential Wing of the Muritala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.”
Reacting to the above video, an X user identified as @bamdee_eweje wrote; “I’m curious, do they meet every time he’s at Lagos airport? Cos this scene happened months ago too.”
Responding, Olusegun Dada wrote; “I’ve seen this question pop up in my comments a lot. For context, Papa Ajasco is in charge of the cultural troop that welcomes Mr president whenever he is in Lagos. Hope this helps.”
