Popular Grammy Award-winning singer Ebunoluwa Damini Ogulu, professionally known as Burna Boy has received backlashes online after he was spotted partying hard with Seyi Tinubu, son of present Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A series of viral videos capturing the bromance between Burna Boy and Seyi Tinubu at a nightclub in London has taken over social media, sparking massive reactions.
In the videos, Burna Boy, known for singing about economic injustice, was seen with Seyi Tinubu, British rapper Dave and American actor Michael B. Jordan.
The clip captured the moment Burna Boy introduced Dave to Seyi Tinubu, while another part showed him linking Seyi up with Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan.
However, what angered many netizens, especially Nigerians, was how Burna Boy was seen giggling and laughing with Seyi Tinubu, despite Seyi’s ongoing feud with Nigerian rapper Eedris AbdulKareem.
Recall that Eedris Abdulkareem criticised President Bola Tinubu and his son, Seyi, over the country’s economic hardship and policies. To that effect, Eedris released a protest track, “Tell Your Papa,” which has been banned by the National Broadcasting Commission.
The controversial rapper revealed that the track was a reaction to Seyi Tinubu’s public claim that his father is Nigeria’s greatest president. He also used the song to call for action in light of the country’s worsening economic and security challenges.
However, Burna Boy hanging out with Seyi Tinubu sparked massive reactions as social media users shared their thoughts via the comment section. Some reactions are shown below:
