Bukayo Saka, scorer of a goal in the Champions League quarter-final second leg against Real Madrid, spoke to the press after the game. He could have given Arsenal an early lead with a penalty that Panenka’ missed.
Arsenal attacker Bukayo Saka expressed his desire to win the Champions League and said his side delivered ‘a blow on the table’ against one of the best clubs in the world. ‘We have shown that we can play in Europe and beat one of the best in the world both home and away,’ he told “TNT Sports” after beating Real Madrid 2-1.
“Tonight was a blow on the table and I’m very happy for everyone. I like to believe we can win the Champions League,” he added. The England striker missed a Panenka penalty against Thibaut Courtois but bounced back to make it 1-0.
“It happens. I tried, but it didn’t work. I was very confident I could score tonight. I learn from every moment, but tonight I’m more focused on enjoying the win and I’ll have a look at the rest later,” he added.
The Gunners will face Paris Saint-Germain in the semi-finals, a team they beat in the group stage after beating Real Madrid 3-0 in the first leg and 2-1 in the second.
“It’s a very different team. I see them playing with a lot of confidence. It will be a great game,” he concluded of their next opponents, who qualified for the semi-finals after knocking out Aston Villa.
