Barcelona winger Raphinha, hours before the World Cup qualifier between Argentina and Brazil, did not want to talk about the possibility of winning the Ballon d’Or, giving priority to winning titles with the ‘Cules’.
Raphinha has been Barcelona‘s sensation this season. The Brazilian, who has reached his peak at the age of 28, has become the attacking leader of a team aiming to win the treble this campaign.
The former Leeds man has exploded onto the scene under Flick and can currently boast 27 goals and 18 assists this season despite there still being plenty of games left to play.
Raphinha’s performances have led to talk of him as a possible candidate to win the next Ballon d’Or, something the ‘Selecao’ winger has been reluctant to talk about, putting silverware as a ‘Cule’ first.
“I try to put it aside to focus on personal objectives in my career. At the end of the season if I win all titles, the possibility of winning an individual award will be greater. But I don’t focus on the Ballon d’Or. No distractions,” he said.
