Nigerian singer and songwriter Crown Uzama popularly known as Shallipopi has revealed that all Afrobeat musicians are stars, sparking reactions among social media users.
The Benin born singer revealed this in an interview at the Wireless festival in London. In a video making the rounds online, the interviewer compelled Shallipopi to pick the best Afrobeat star between Nigerian musicians Burna Boy, Asake, Rema and Wizkid.
In recent days, fans and music lovers concluded that there are only three top National Afrobeat stars which include Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido.
On the contrary, Shallipopi asserted that everybody is a star in Nigeria. In his words, “In Nigeria, there is no first, no second, no third and no fourth star in Nigeria”.
However, the interviewer asked him to pick his favorite best Afrobeat star. Shallipopi, then declared himself as the best Afrobeat star in Nigeria.
