Superstar Afrobeats singer David Adeleke professionally known as Davido has taken to social media to responds after his billionaire father Adedeji Adeleke claims that he generates 15% of the electricity needs in Nigeria.

Recall that in a previous post, Intel Region reported that, Chief Dr. Deji Adeleke, a renowned Nigerian businessman who is the President of Adeleke University and the CEO of Pacific Holdings Limited shared this story while speaking at a conference in Maryland, USA yesterday, October 15th 2024.

He described himself as a businessman in Nigeria, particularly in the electricity sector. However, he sparked online conversations by revealing that a government official attempted to stop him from building his $2 billion power plant, but he shared how God miraculously intervened.

Davido’s dad emphasized that he faced challenges during the design and permit process for his new power plant, as a politician acted as an obstacle, claiming the project would never succeed.

Dr. Adeleke stated that he aimed to build the largest power plant, generating 1,250 megawatts to boost electricity in the country. However, a government official insisted that the project would not be possible.

He explained that he entrusted the situation to God, a decision that wasn’t well received by his Chinese partner and engineer, who had heavily invested in the project. According to his Chinese friend, relying on God wasn’t practical, as the issue had become a serious business matter. However, Dr. Adeleke remained steadfast in his faith.

Davido’s dad Dr Adedeji Adeleke stressed that he goes on his bended knees and prays to God so has to make the dream of the power plant come true so that his Chinese partner can know the power of God and also disappoint the government official who acted as an obstacle.

He added that, weeks later, he received a call from the Ministry of Power, inviting him to meet with the Minister of Power. During the meeting, the Minister welcomed his project and requested quarterly updates on its progress.

Dr Adedeji Adeleke during this moment said that the government official who wanted to block his power plant project was flown out of the country to Germany due to his poor health.

Davido’s father concluded that his project which is the 1250 megawatts power plant will be the biggest in Nigeria and will kickstart operation in January 2025.

Following the above development, Davido took to his official Twitter page to react after his father said he provides 15% of the electricity in the country.
