US-based veteran Nigerian rapper Lanre Dabiri, popularly known as Eldee the Don, has revealed the music genre Grammy Award-winning artist Ayodeji Balogun, also known as Wizkid, initially pursued before establishing his footing in the industry.
Rapper Eldee, the “Today-Today” hitmaker who relocated abroad a few years ago, appeared as a guest on music executive Adesope Shopsydoo’s Afrobeat podcast.
Eldee revealed that Wizkid initially leaned towards Reggae and Dancehall music rather than Afrobeats. However, recognizing his potential, Eldee discussed Wizkid’s talent with Banky W.
During the podcast, Eldee the Don mentioned that he advised Banky W, who recently celebrated his wedding anniversary, to guide Wizkid carefully to ensure he didn’t fall into the wrong hands.
The rapper also revealed that he advised Wizkid to stay original and create music that resonates with Nigerian culture.
